Reading

I have been operating all day as if today were Monday.  And of course, it is not.  But anyway, that’s the basis for my strange post title, above.

While I grapple with multiple blogging issues, both content-related and technical, and float through the aftermath of selling the bike, I have very little to share with you today (hence the “minimal” part of the title).

So, since I am so boring at the moment, I thought I would share with you a few of the people I’ve been reading recently.  These bloggers have made me giggle, or nod in afirmation, or crinkle with anxiety, and experience a million other emotions and reactions.  Hopefully you’ll find something enjoyable here, to tide you over while I get around to writing and posting about the latest irrationalities and unmet expectations of my little life.

Amazing story about a family who lost their teenage son to drug addition.  SO MUCH in these links needs to be read, examined, and implemented by parents today!   My heart is so with this writer, Katie, as she — now 8 months pregnant — and her family try to process, recover from, and move forward with all that has happened.

Excellent info here and here, too, also from the same writer.  WE MUST LEARN
     from these mother warriors.

I would so very much like to go out to dinner with this woman:

This lady talks about “falling more in love with your life every day.”  As impossible and implausible as this sounds, I am strangely drawn to rabid optimism:

The writer of this blog does a nice job of describing a problem I SO WISH I had:  PR.  If I DID have this particular problem, I PROMISE that I would act like a grown-up.  Without fail.  Or at least I’d act mature and professional until I could walk away from my computer’s keyboard or hang up the phone to throw my tantrum or display the wacky, inappropriate, childish side of my personality.

I want to be able to do macro-photography like this lady (not to mention I’d like to sound as upbeat and happy!):

Here’s one who cracks me up endlessly, but I warn you, she’s not for anyone who’d prefer to avoid unpleasantness or practice southern-belle-like manners:

And for something completely different, and I love it, too:

Come back tomorrow to find out how the cappuccino cake worked out (yes, I will explain), and how lost I feel when trying to help Claire with her inner demons, which happen to be hindering her effectively dealing with her, um, classmate demons.  The synopsis of that latter one goes something like this:  the apple don’t fall far from the tree.

Treasuring the Mundane

May 14, 2010

I have found it very difficult to post lately, as there are a number of things going on in the abc household that I simply cannot write about at this time.  Be glad you can’t know:  you’re escaping much pain and ugliness. A few snippets of my family’s life that I can share with you: [...]
