birthday

I have something for you.

And I am so freaking excited to do this!

First – you knew it was coming – I have to tell you a little story.  Actually, it’s, um, something of a historical scenario.

I always thought I would be able to take my little ones to Sesame Street Live!, or a modified version of Swan Lake.  You get the idea.

Let me clarify what I’m telling you here:  Our family is so lucky.  We have been so very, very blessed.  Really, all my sarcasm and snarkiness – I know it has its place.  Given the chance to relive the earliest years of my girls, if I had to choose between staying home with my kids and being able to take them to theatre events, I’d stay home with them, hands down.  (Though I might plan better for tequila to be a more regular part of each week….)

Not taking Claire to see Stars on Ice, or getting Kate to see Barney Live?  Not a huge deal in the scheme of life.

And now?  NOW I get to help YOU take your kids – or your grandkids, or your niece, or your favorite neighbor – to one of those special performances that hold children rapt with attention and allow them to feel the magic of a live performance.

SO….what is it?

How This Works

This drawing/contest is open as of this posting, and will conclude on Wednesday, July 27 at 5 p.m. (Central time).  Random.org will be used to select a winner, and I will then notify that winner via email.  The winner has 36 hours to respond and provide a mailing address (usually I allow a longer response time, but time will be a little tight with this one!).  Should I receive nothing in response to the notification by the deadline, I will choose another winner and proceed as I did with the first winner.

Ed. Note:  I was not compensated in any way, shape, or form to offer this giveaway.    All opinions herein are my own.

Birthday Celebration Meets Boating

July 11, 2011

In the past, we have always held birthday parties for our girls here at home. This year, however, my SIL and her Hubby brought their boat to Lakeshore State Park.  For those of you not familiar with the area, this park is newly formed and is directly across from the Summerfest grounds.  (Summerfest is the [...]

Another Year

July 7, 2011

I am not much for New Year’s resolutions. What with recovering from Christmas celebrations and the whirlwind of shopping and socializing that is November and December, my intellect isn’t at its sharpest in January. In fact, that line from the famous poem, “…just settled in for a long winter’s nap”?  I’m convinced whoever wrote that [...]

Happy 7th Birthday, Pixie!

July 2, 2011

Today is Pixie’s 7th Birthday, and we are so happy to be celebrating it with her. Undoubtedly, you know by now that I love all my children immensely, and each has her own uniqueness.  However, I must confess:  Kate, aka Pixie, has a special place in my heart.  All of our hearts, really. Kate was [...]

The Great Cake Debacle

April 4, 2011

I had this whole big post planned for today. It included freshness, winners, taxes, and drunkenness. It was going to be FASCINATING! And then?  This happened – and I felt strangely compelled to tell you all about it. A little background first:  yesterday we didn’t get around to celebrating Hubby/Daddy’s birthday as we originally planned.  [...]
