My Love Affair with Coffee Creamer #NaturalBlissWM

May 24, 2012

Unless we’ve had coffee together you probably don’t know this about me:  I *love* coffee creamer.

LOVE it!

So much so, that on many occasions, it’s been suggested to me that I “add some coffee to my creamer,” or been questioned “is there really any coffee IN there?” (That last phrase is usually accompanied by someone peering into my cup and making faces at the light brown liquid.)

I do not take offense at such ignorance.  I’ve become something of a Creamer Connoisseur, and I’m rather proud of it.

For me, coffee without cream is like, well, a Christmas tree without lights or ornaments.  Or a Crayola box without crayons.

In other words:  incomplete.

And I have done it all:  powdered creamers when I’m on a budget, real cream, half-n-half, flavored creamers, and everything in between.  I’ve carried packets in my coat pockets and those little single-serve thingys in my purse.  I simply cannot be without creamer.  One never knows when the need or desire for coffee may overtake you, and one HAS to be READY!

Coffee-mate Natural Bliss

When I heard that Coffee-mate had come out with a line of refrigerated flavored creamers that contained only four ingredients, I was intrigued!

Though I wear Birkenstocks (because I have a bad hip from a car accident and comfort takes priority over pretty much all else), I am not what you’d call a “granola” kind of girl, eating all organic and/or preservative-free (though more power to those of you who do!).  But if I can use a yummy-tasting creamer with fewer ingredients and preservatives, I’m ON IT!  I don’t need any artificial ingredients coming between me and my morning infusion of caffeinated bliss.  (“Bliss” – like heaven, AND like “Coffee Mate Natural Bliss”!  Such a wordsmith, am I!]

Four Flavors

My four favorite flavors are covered:  vanilla, low-fat vanilla, caramel, and sweet cream.  I tried both the vanilla and the sweet cream, and I loved them both!

My Taste Test

After dropping the girls off at school recently, and a quick errand run, I couldn’t wait to get home and have a cup of coffee.  In preparation, I picked up Coffee-mate Natural Bliss while at Walmart:

While I would typically add a little sugar to my hot coffee, and possibly some vanilla syrup to my iced coffee, I found that neither were needed when I used Coffee Mate’s Natural Bliss creamers.  Easy and cost-effective:  that’s my favorite combo!!

The caramel would probably do it for me.

Thanks so much for the recommendation. Just bought the vanilla today. Yum. Good price and no ingredients that I couldn’t pronounce. :-D. Tomorrow I will try it in iced coffee.
