The Rigors of First Grade PE

So Kate comes home today and tells me she has learned how to do push-ups.  She proudly gets down on the carpet in front of me and proceeds to push her upper body off the floor with her palms.

“That’s really good, honey, but you have to lift your legs, too,” I tell her.

Her next try — she’s all concentration, mind you, so excited be taking (in her mind) this bold new leap into First Grade Physical Education — she does the same thing with her upper body, and bends her knees so her feet touch her butt.

She was so stinkin’ proud that I tried really hard not to laugh.

I was unsuccessful.

Back At It!

The dust from August’s whirlwind of activities is settling. Vacation Bible School was a Godsend.  I got a vacation from my children in the name of the Lord.  The only catch:  now they seem to think they need to know more about God and the Bible.  Huh.
