You may remember me mentioning that my doctor’s office has a fish tank that Amy likes to examine upon our every visit. (Still cannot figure out the cause of the ongoing hypokalemia.) While admiring the fish yesterday, she asked if she could please get her own fish. I told her that while that sounded really fun, “we have our hands full at home” at this time, and we do not need to take on anything else to feed or clean up after. She looked down at my hands, which were holding her jacket and my purse. Then she looked at her own hands, which were empty, and said, “Mom, your hands are full, but mine aren’t. So when can I get my fish?”
Oh, in case you were wondering, we continue to be possum free. This is undoubtedly because all the possums siblings and extended family who live in a two-mile radius either witnessed or heard about the atrocity that occurred last week. Such cruelty visited upon their species has led them to make the wise choice to stay away from our home.

She is adorable!! Shall we get Claire fish for her birthday? Evil Cackel
sorry, no comment just stopping in again to see what is happening in the realm of the ‘burbs’.
ok, now i have a comment after reading about the previous ‘pet’s’ fate. fish are easy. good way to start responsibility. just don’t let them take it out of the bowl to pet it. we found that is not a good idea. don’t let the cat get too hungry. the cat will knock the bowl off of the dresser. that makes for a messy clean up after you’ve been gone for a day and a half. and above all else don’t call the kids in to watch the fish do a spasmatic dance in the water…for they will see a lifeless body float belly up when it is over.
I stopped in to see what the latest and greatest Lasko news from the most entertaining writer I know:) You just crack me up with the way you can articulate some of the everyday things we all go through, and much that we haven’t. Really draws me in and realize how humorous and fun life can be! Hope all is well and I love you!
Thanks for keeping us updated as the drama across the cheddar border unfolds. I honestly have no idea why someone would want to keep a real fish at home. They don’t do anything that you can’t program a screen saver to do just as well. Plus you don’t have to remember to feed or clean the water.
